AB OBJECTIVE: To visualize HIV-1 protein-antibody interactions and to study
its distributions on the surface of latex particles. METHODS:
Polysterene latex microspheres (D-08 micron) with adsorbed rabbit
antibodies against HIV-1 are used and visualizations of antibodies are
carried out by immuno-EM technique. RESULTS: Latex microspheres are
mixed with solutions with different concentrations of virus antigen and
several minutes after agglutination starts, microspheres are placed on
EM-grids and proceeded with gold antirabbit conjudate. Different degrees
of conjugate - antibody interaction and antigenes distributions on the
surface of microspheres are observed. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: It is
supposed uneven conjugate-antibody distributions depend on properties of
latex surface.
